The most awaited wedding of Indian televison, Shiv-Anandi's Vihaah, took place on COLORS in Balika Vadhu. In case you missed the grand event, here's a quick recap for you
Band Baaja Baraat
Shiv's baraat arrives with much fanfare and Dadaji seems to be enjoying the most!
Dulhe Raja
Shiv makes an entry on Ghodi looking regal in a white Jodhpuri suit with zardosi work. What makes his look more elegant is the beautiful 'pagdi', which is a must for a groom!
And here comes the bride
Anandi looks nervous yet happy as her mother-in-law-turned-mother, Sumitra and sister-in-law, Suguna escort her to the venue.
Anandi's look
We usually see Anandi in lehengas but what sets her bridal wear apart is that this has been specially designed for her by Jaipur based artistes and even the jewellery was sourced from different parts of Rajasthan. Dadisa has definitely spent a lot of time to bring it all together for her Laado!
The 'Saasuma' moment
Sumitra fulfills one of the most amusing rituals of a wedding; pulling Shiv's nose!
Meet the special guests
As it's a 'Saamuhik Vivah' Balika Vadhu invited Megha and Mohan of Na Bole Tum fame to do a live coverage of the event through their newspaper Prabhat Leher.
Look who's beating whom!
In one of the many rituals, Bahus from both the families exchange kalash and diyas and play a tug-of-war over the havan kund. Looks like Dadisa's team is going to take the trophy home!
Ajab-gajab phere!
Since a marriage doesn't only bind two individuals together in one relation, but their families also become one, the samdhans also take pheras of the havan kund depicting the unison.
The Jaimala
Shiv and Anandi exchange garlands and complete the first ritual.
Ek chutki Sindoor!
Finally the moment has arrived where Shiv puts sindoor on Anandi's forhead
and they become a married couple!
Life changing vows
Now it was the turn of the groom and bride to take seven pheras and give each other seven promises that will bind them together in one relation for a lifetime.
Mantri Ji bless the couple
Chief Minister of Rajasthan arrives for the wedding and gives his blessings to the couple. Mantri Ji, as everyone refers to him, was the one who had organised the 'Saamuhik Vivaah' and requested Shiv and Anandi to participate and help in promoting this social cause.
Dadisa blesses the newly-weds
Shiv and Anandi seek blessings from Dadisa. She had played cupid in their love story and now looks absolutely content!
Prabhat Lehar interviews Anandi
Post the wedding rituals, the special guests from Prabhat Leher interview, once a Balika Vadhu Anandi. As she now gets re-married in a 'Saamuhik Vivaah', she shares her concerns and efforts towards social issues!
The Shekhar family trio
Women of Shekhar family greet Anandi's family with warmth and utmost respect! Seen here- Shiv's mother Ira, sister Sanchi and his Meenu Bua
Mr. and Mrs. Shekhar
The wedding ceremony is finally over! The newlyweds sit together and Anandi is seen blushing under Shiv's gaze. Aww!
